What We Offer
Tabor Home is a Long-Term Personal Care Home dedicated to providing exceptional care and a warm, welcoming environment for our residents. Tabor Home follows a Palliative Approach for care of all of our residents. To learn more about this, click the following link spaltc.ca. Our community features five distinct houses, each with its own tranquil garden courtyard, fostering a sense of belonging and connection.
We offer private single resident rooms with accessible in-room bathrooms, ensuring comfort and convenience. At Tabor Home, we believe in holistic well-being, offering therapeutic recreational programming, music therapy, and a resident council to promote engagement and empowerment. Our amenities include a community centre, a café, and dining space, as well as various lounge areas throughout the building for relaxation and socializing. We have a dedicated team of professionals, including 24-hour nursing care, a nursing call bell system, local Health Care providers providing in-person medical care, and an full-time social worker to assist with admissions and advocacy. Nutritious home-cooked meals are prepared by our dietary staff, with digital menu displays and nutritional assessments by an on-site dietitian. Residents can stay connected with satellite TV, WiFi, and telephone services, while enjoying the convenience of an on-site hair salon, Chapel, maintenance team, and equipment rental program.
Our commitment to resident comfort is further demonstrated through permanent ceiling lifts, specialty mattresses for pressure reduction, and amenities like the Suzy Q meal service cart and Handi-Van access. Tabor Home is not just a care facility; it's a community where residents can thrive, supported by a wide range of services and a compassionate staff dedicated to their well-being.
Each new house is home to 20 residents and includes a living room, a dining room, a kitchenette with a fridge, stove and microwave as well as its own spa/shower room. To assist with way-finding, the houses are named Aspen, Birch, Cedar, Dogwood and Elm. The Crocus Lounge is at the centre of the Aspen, Birch, and Cedar neighbourhoods. The Sunflower Lounge joins the Dogwood and Elm neighbourhoods. A community centre for larger group activities, spiritual care, a café and a salon are located in the uptown area near the main entrance. The new home also offers direct access to protected outdoor spaces to be enjoyed by residents and visitors.
